I just clicked on this game on a whim, but ended up playing for an hour straight and couldn’t stop. You start off with just a flimsy little knife, and the sense of progression as you scavenge for more blades is actually quite satisfying—the more knives you have, the more you feel like you’ve unlocked a ‘Whirlwind Slash’, turning every step you take into a danger zone. The best bit is that split-second of ‘mass slaughter’. Flanking an opponent and landing a close-range combo to take them out instantly, or when an enemy blade just grazes you as it flies past – those last-second comebacks are absolutely addictive. Plus, the pace is incredibly fast; there’s virtually no downtime – start → farm → brawl → get wiped out. A match might only last two or three minutes, but you just can’t resist playing another round. But after playing for a while, the issues become quite obvious: Sometimes you die in a really frustrating way, getting instantly killed by a pro’s single swing with no chance to react; the map isn’t big, so when there are lots of players it turns into a pure free-for-all, which relies a bit on luck; And then there’s that sense of frustration when you’ve just started to get strong only to get ganked—it really gets your blood pressure skyrocketing. The gameplay is actually quite simple at its core:It’s all about picking up blades to get stronger + positioning + timing. The skill ceiling isn’t particularly high; it’s more about reflexes and awareness.
