How to Play Chess 🚀 Before the Game Starts Choose your game mode: vs Computer, Online, with a Friend via link, or Two Players on one screen Select your preferred time control: Unlimited, Bullet, Blitz, Rapid, or Classical Pick your piece color: White or Black Enable hints or set a handicap if needed — then hit Play! ♟️ Basic Rules & Special Moves Draw conditions — a draw is declared when: Stalemate — a player has no legal moves but is not in check Threefold repetition — the same position occurs three times 50-move rule — 50 moves pass with no captures and no pawn moves Insufficient material — neither player has enough pieces to deliver checkmate Castling is allowed only when: Neither the King nor the Rook has moved previously There are no pieces standing between the King and the Rook The King is not currently in check The King does not pass through or land on any square under attack En Passant: If your opponent advances a pawn two squares forward, landing it beside your pawn, you may capture it as if it had moved only one square. Your pawn moves diagonally to the square the opponent's pawn skipped over, and the opponent's pawn is removed from the board.
